Weighted blanket vs regular duvet: what actually differs?
Short answer. A weighted blanket mainly provides distributed pressure. A duvet mainly provides thermal insulation. Those functions can overlap, but they are not the same.

Do not confuse weight with warmth
A heavy blanket is not automatically warmer than a highly insulating duvet, but it often contains more material. Compare mass, insulation and breathability separately.
Who might test a weighted blanket?
An adult who enjoys deep pressure and wants to test a comfort tool may find it worthwhile. If the main issue is simply feeling cold, a suitable duvet is usually the more direct solution.
